Narrative:
UPDATE01: A Liberia-flagged container ship was suspiciously approached 48NM southwest of Bata, Equatorial Guinea. The vessel was reportedly followed by a skiff at a distance of approximately 0.75NM. The skiff discharged firearm shots. No injuries or damage were reported. At the time of the incident, the vessel was transiting at a speed of 17.2 knots, with an estimated freeboard of 6.9 metres. The vessel was observed continuing its journey to Bata. ADVICE: Merchant vessels in the vicinity are advised to exercise caution, strictly enforce BMP, and report any suspicious activity.
