Narrative:
Iranian forces conducted a combined ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack targeting the United States Naval Support Activity (NSA) base in Manama, Bahrain. Ambrey is aware that an air raid alert for Bahrain was activated at 00:48 UTC, with subsequent reports of explosions audible. The IRCG claimed to have launched the attack against “the Fifth Fleet” in response to “recent US aggression”. Ambrey is aware that US forces conducted airstrikes against multiple coastal locations in Iran on 26 June and 27 June, in response to Iranian attacks against merchant vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. At the time of writing, no casualties or damage to merchant vessels in Bahrain had been reported.

ADVICE: Merchant vessels calling at Arabian/Persian Gulf ports are advised to designate a Safe Muster Point (SMP), seek shelter when air raid sirens sound, and adhere to port authority instructions. The SMP should be located above the waterline, amidships, and low down in the superstructure. Vessels should reduce crew deck movements to an operational minimum.
