Narrative:
A Hong Kong-flagged bulk carrier was boarded by three individuals while anchored at Chattogram Anchorage, Bangladesh. The suspects were reportedly armed with knives and iron bars. A duty crew member sighted the individuals attempting to break into the forecastle store. The suspects threatened the crew member, who managed to raise the alarm. A watchman, who responded to the alarm, was also threatened. At the time of writing, no injuries or stolen items were reported. The suspects fled the vessel aboard a small boat with four additional people. At the time of the incident, the vessel had an estimated freeboard of 6.13m. ADVICE: Vessels in the area are advised to enhance security measures and maintain strict watchkeeping protocols while at anchor. It would be advised to supplement local watchmen with crew members.
