Priority Broadcast Alert – Indian Ocean Region

A merchant vessel reported two close proximity explosions approximately 14NM southwest of Dhubab, Yemen. The vessel was not transmitting an AIS signal at the time and had a Private Armed Security Team aboard. Ambrey is investigating the vessel’s affiliations.

Advise: Merchant vessels are advised to minimise bridge manning and reduce crew deck movements. Vessels are advised to maintain a 5NM minimum distance from vessels transiting without AIS to avoid collateral damage.
