Narrative:
UPDATE01: Ukrainian authorities subsequently announced that the UAVs had impacted two Russian Navy Project 15410 cable-laying vessels, Volga (K-116) and Vyatka (302), and a Russian-flagged passenger/Ro-Ro vessel, causing a large-scale fire. At the time of writing, no casualties had been reported. Ambrey has upgraded the incident to War risk – Physical damage.
Ukrainian forces conducted an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack on the Zaliv shipbuilding plant in Russian-occupied Crimea, Ukraine. NASA FIRMS data showed two thermal anomalies within the boundaries of the shipbuilding plant. At the time of writing, no damage to merchant vessels or casualties had been reported.
ADVICE: Vessels conducting Black Sea port calls are advised to conduct comprehensive dynamic voyage threat assessments. The crew is advised to remain within the designated Safe Muster Point (SMP) during UAV attacks on infrastructure. The SMP should be located above the waterline, amidships, and low-down in the superstructure.
