Narrative:
UPDATE02: A bulk carrier was reportedly targeted and damaged by an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) attack in the port of Vylkove, Ukraine. The UAVs additionally damaged a warehouse within the port infrastructure. Ambrey is aware that this was the second report of damage to a merchant vessel in the Odesa region in the past 24 hours. At the time of the attack, one merchant vessel was observed in Vylkove. Air alarms were activated overnight with reports of UAV activity across the whole of the country. At the time of writing, air raid sirens had been deactivated and the damage to the port and the merchant vessels was being assessed.

UPDATE01: Official Ukrainian authorities have confirmed at 07:40 UTC that the air raid alert for Vylkove has been cancelled.

Ambrey is aware that an air raid alert was issued for Vylkove, Odesa Oblast, Ukraine, at 22:01 UTC on 22 December. At the time of writing, the warning remained in place. Ambrey will provide updates as new information becomes available.

ADVICE: Vessels conducting Black Sea port calls are advised to conduct comprehensive dynamic voyage threat assessments. The crew is advised to remain within the designated Safe Muster Point (SMP) during unmanned aerial vehicle and missile attacks on infrastructure. The SMP should be located above the waterline, amidships, and low down in the superstructure.
