Priority Alert – Europe and the Mediterranean
War risk/Physical damage
Details
Narrative:
Ukrainian forces conducted an unmanned surface vehicle attack on the port of Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. Unconfirmed reports suggested that a merchant vessel had been struck while alongside Pier 167. Video footage showed a large explosion, likely in proximity to the port. At the time of the attack, at least four merchant vessels were observed within the port; however, Ambrey is aware that vessels regularly withhold their AIS when calling at Russian Black Sea ports, and that AIS disruptions caused by electronic warfare mask vessel movements. Ambrey assessed the incident as ongoing and will provide updates when available.
ADVICE: Vessels conducting Black Sea port calls are advised to conduct comprehensive dynamic voyage threat assessments. The crew is advised to remain within the designated Safe Muster Point (SMP) during USV attacks on infrastructure. The SMP should be located above the waterline, amidships, and low-down in the superstructure.
