Details
Narrative:
UPDATE01: The Regional Operational Headquarters of Krasnodar Krai issued a statement confirming that two merchant vessels were damaged during the attack. Based on AIS data, satellite imagery and additional footage of the attack, Ambrey observed three tankers at the terminal, two of which were on fire. Fires were also observed at the deep-water pier, including berths 1A and 1B. Authorities stated that the attack did not result in any casualties. At the time of writing, all fires had reportedly been extinguished. In addition, the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed to have intercepted 39 Ukrainian UAVs over the Black Sea, 32 over Krasnodar Krai, 26 over Russian-occupied Crimea, and three over the Sea of Azov on the night of the attack.

ADVICE: Vessels are advised to post lookouts to spot suspicious objects on the water’s surface.

Ukrainian forces conducted an unmanned aerial vehicle attack on the port of Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. Ambrey observed post-strike imagery which showed a fire on an offshore loading berth on Pier 1 of the Rosneft oil terminal with one vessel berthed. Video footage of the strike showed the deployment of short-range air defence systems engaging aerial targets over the port area. Ambrey assessed the situation as ongoing and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
ADVICE: Vessels conducting Black Sea port calls are advised to conduct comprehensive dynamic voyage threat assessments. The crew is advised to remain within the designated Safe Muster Point (SMP) during UAV attacks on infrastructure. The SMP should be located above the waterline, amidships, and low-down in the superstructure.
