War risk/Sighting
Details
Narrative:
Russian forces launched an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) attack on the Port of Yuzhny, Ukraine. Air raid sirens were activated at 20:41 UTC. Ambrey observed uncorroborated footage of the attack, large explosions were observed with fire and plumes of smoke rising from the area of impact. Russian forces-affiliated media reported that the attack targeted “military cargo” that had arrived from Romania. At the time of the attack no merchant vessels were observed in the area of interest. Ambrey is aware that some merchant vessels may withhold their AIS signals whilst transiting the Black Sea, and conducting Black Sea port calls. ADVICE: Vessels conducting Black Sea port calls are advised to conduct comprehensive dynamic voyage threat assessments. The crew is advised to remain within the designated Safe Muster Point (SMP) during UAV attacks. The SMP should be located above the waterline, amidships, and low-down in the superstructure.
