Narrative:
Ukrainian forces launched an attack on the port city of Novorossiysk, Russia. Air raid sirens were activated at 21:30 UTC, and up to five explosions were reported west of the city, near the port, between 22:00 UTC and 01:00 UTC. The Russian air defence system was activated, two UAVs and two Unmanned Surface Vehicles were reportedly intercepted. No damage to merchant vessels or port infrastructure was reported. At the time of the incident, based on AIS data, 44 merchant vessels were moored in the port of Novorossiysk. Ambrey is aware that the Russian frigate warship ADMIRAL MAKAROV was observed at the Novorossiysk’s naval base, where it had been transferred from Sevastopol following increased Ukrainian attacks on naval assets. ADVICE: Vessels conducting Black Sea port calls are advised to conduct comprehensive dynamic voyage threat assessments. The crew is advised to remain within the designated Safe Muster Point (SMP) during UAV attacks on infrastructure. The SMP should be located above the waterline, amidships, and low-down in the superstructure.
