Narrative:
The Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) on the port of Taganrog, Russia. The attack reportedly resulted in a fire breaking out in the port as well as damage to an oil depot in the area of interest. Imagery from the attack showed a large plume of black smoke rising from the area of impact in Taganrog. At the time of writing, firefighting efforts were underway in the port. No merchant vessels were observed in the port at the time of the attack; however, Ambrey is aware that merchant vessels have been withholding their AIS signals whilst conducting Black Sea and Sea of Azov port calls. No injuries were reported as a result of the attack.
ADVICE: Vessels conducting Black Sea and Sea of Azov port calls are advised to conduct comprehensive dynamic voyage threat assessments. The crew is advised to remain within the designated Safe Muster Point (SMP) during UAV attacks on infrastructure. The SMP should be located above the waterline, amidships, and low-down in the superstructure.
