On 26 April, the PEMEX Zacatecas platform was approached by a group of individuals reportedly armed aboard a small boat, 12NM northeast of Ciudad del Carmen, Mexico. Upon attempting to take control of the platform, the workers deployed water jets and activated loudspeakers, stating that naval assets had been alerted. The suspects subsequently fled the area. The Mexican Navy arrived in the area of interest after the individuals had departed. On 15 February, Ambrey reported a robbery aboard the PEMEX Zaap Delta oil platform in the Bay of Campeche, during which personal items were stolen, and workers were reportedly beaten.
ADVICE: Vessels operating in the area are advised to implement counter-piracy protection measures.
