3. Guy Hindley appointed new Baltic Exchange Chairman. Guy Hindley has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Baltic Exchange Council, with effect from 1 January 2025, following the leadership of Lord Jeffrey Mountevans who has held the position for the past two years.
Guy Hindley, who has served on the Baltic Exchange Council since January 2019, has a long and distinguished career in maritime sector, including his role as Managing Partner of Dry Cargo division at Howe Robinson, where he has been a key figure since for nearly four decades.

4. The Port of Southampton donates £12,000 to local maritime charities. Associated British Ports Southampton proudly supports local charities and great causes throughout the year. The organisation has already raised over £12,000 for ANDYSMANCLUB through various social events and fundraising activities, including a charity cycle around the Isle of Wight.

6. Saipem back in business in Brazil. A Brazilian court has informed Italian offshore engineering and construction giant Saipem that it can resume normal operations in Brazil.
Saipem was suspended from signing new contracts with the Brazilian public administration for two years following a probe into alleged irregularities surrounding a deal signed with Petrobras in 2011.

9. Russia’s LNG Shadow Fleet Resumes Operations After Months-Long Hiatus. Several vessels of Russia’s LNG shadow fleet are on the move after idling for much of the past two months. In the Western Arctic near Murmansk, newbuild LNG carrier Mulan called at the Saam FSU over the weekend, likely to reload LNG it had previously offloaded at the end of September.

10. Netanyahu Says Israel Will Continue To Act Against The Houthis.
