1. Fleet Management: 30th anniversary celebrations get underway. Angad Banga, chief operating officer of The Caravel Group, was just 10 when his father, Harry, and firm friend Kishore Rajvanshy founded Fleet Management in Hong Kong back in 1994.
The Bangas and the Rajvanshys both had families of a similar age. “The shippies are getting together,” the younger Banga recounts, smiling, as he recalls ‘Uncle Kishore’ coming round regularly to his father’s house back in the 1990s.

2. Seaspan taps Hudong-Zhonghua for 13,600 teu series. Containership tonnage provider Seaspan has put pen to paper on six 13,600 teu newbuilds at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
The 336-m-long newbuilds will be fitted with scrubbers and energy-saving devices and be future fuel-ready. No value has been revealed; however, newbuilding sources had earlier suggested a price tag exceeding $180m per ship.
