3. Port of Antwerp-Bruges launches the Volta 1 Europe’s first electric tugboat. Port of Antwerp-Bruges is launching the Volta 1, Europe’s first fully electric tugboat. 4. Response to news – Greenland Shipping Firm Royal Arctic Line end heavy fuel oil use. Responding to news published in early May, in Sermitsiaq on how the Greenland government-owned Royal Arctic Lineshipping company will move away from heavy fuel oil  use, ahead of an International Maritime Organization ban taking full effect in 2029, the Clean Arctic Alliance welcomed the move, with Lead Advisor Dr Sian Prior saying

5. New guidance from ISWAN puts seafarers at centre of decarbonisation.

8. Zero-emission ferry trials launch in Orkney with Artemis hydrofoil. 9. India Launches $10 Billion Tanker Fleet Plan to Boost Energy Security and Shipbuilding. India plans to spend 850 billion rupees ($10 billion) to purchase 112 crude carriers through 2040, people familiar with the matter said, as the world’s third-biggest importer of oil seeks to have its own fleet to secure supplies.

10. Yemen’s Houthis Announce ‘Maritime Blockade’ on Israel’s Haifa Port. Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis announced on Monday what they called a “maritime blockade” on Israel’s Haifa port in response to Israel’s ongoing conflict in Gaza.

“All companies with ships present in or heading to this port are hereby notified that, as of the time of this announcement, the aforementioned port has been included in the list of targets,” the group’s spokesperson Yahya Saree said in a televised address.
