1. Baseblue Successfully executes LNG ship-to-ship bunkering operation in the Caribbean. Baseblue has completed its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) ship-to-ship (STS) bunkering operation in Portland Jamaica, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing efforts to expand the availability of LNG as a marine fuel.

2. The Shipowners’ Club reports a 98.8% combined ratio and a strong capital position. The 2024 financial year saw the Club deliver an underwriting surplus of US$ 3.2m, with a combined ratio of 98.8%. As part of that, for the first time in the Club’s history,  the Club recorded gross earned premium of greater than US$ 300m. Whilst 2024 saw evidence of global volatility and changing macroeconomic factors, the Shipowners’ Club was pleased to report its investment portfolio returned an overall gain of US$ 37.4m, with closing net assets of US$ 447.5m, representing a 10% increase over the previous year.

4. Kale Logistics Solutions develop Sultanate of Oman’s National Port Community System. Kale Logistics Solutions, along with its local partner Novel Muscat, has been awarded the contract by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Oman to develop a National Port Community System . 7. UK readies sanctions on another 100 Russian-linked tankers. The UK is set to impose a new wave of sanctions against the Russian oil trade, targeting up to 100 more ships. The biggest sanctions package against Russia’s shadow fleet should bring the total number of oil tankers blacklisted by the UK to more than 230.

10. Salvage Of Lynch’s Sunken Yacht Paused After Diver’s Death. Work to recover the late British tech tycoon Mike Lynch’s sunken superyacht off the coast of northern Sicily has been paused following the death of a diver involved in the operations, the company leading the effort said on Saturday.
