1. IBIA partners with INTERCARGO to strengthen collaboration on decarbonisation, safety, and marine fuels. The International Bunker Industry Association and the International Association of Dry Cargo Shipowners  have entered into a reciprocal membership agreement to reinforce collaboration between the dry bulk shipping and marine fuels communities.

2. James Fisher opens Uruguay base with first successful ship-to-ship crude oil transfer. James Fisher and Sons , a global provider of specialist marine and shipping solutions trusted for safety and innovation at sea, has established a new operational base in Uruguay. A key growth region for the business, the new base expands James Fisher’s ship-to-ship  services in South America to provide a strategic hub for clients requiring rapid mobilisation and support across South America’s energy trade routes.

3. Global partnership launches International Maritime Future Technologies Innovation Centre. The new centre will focus on developing and testing zero-carbon and intelligent-ship technologies, building on joint research into fleet decarbonisation models.

Lloyd’s Register , in collaboration with COSCO Shipping Group, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Southampton, has established the International Maritime Future Technologies Innovation Centre.

4. Ørsted strikes $6bn deal with Apollo for half of UK offshore wind farm. Danish renewable energy company Ørsted has signed a deal with New York-listed asset management firm Apollo Global Management to sell a 50% share in its 2.9GW Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm in the UK.

5. Developers shun Dutch 1GW offshore wind auction. The Dutch authorities have received no bids for its 1GW Nederwiek 1-A offshore wind site in the North Sea.The site, which covers an area of around 150 sq km, some 95 km off the coast of Texel, was already reduced from 2GW to decrease the investment required and the financial risks to developers.

6. Equinor extends Aker Solutions inspection services deal to 2030. Norway’s Aker Solutions has won a four-year contract extension to provide onshore and offshore inspection services for compatriot Equinor.

The extension follows the Norwegian energy giant’s decision to exercise an option included in the current agreement.

7. China Completes 43 Manned Arctic Dives in 2025, Demonstrates Dual Submersible Operations Under Ice. China has completed 43 successful manned submersible dives during its 2025 Arctic expedition, including coordinated missions using two crewed deep-sea vehicles, the country’s Ministry of Natural Resources announced.

8. Panama Canal Bets on LPG Transits to Offset World Trade Slowdown Next Year. The Panama Canal expects an increase in transits of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vessels and carriers of some agricultural commodities to help it compensate for a reduction in world trade next year, the waterway’s chief told Reuters on Monday.

9. Siemens and HD Hyundai to Modernise American Shipbuilding Industry.
