2. Russia lifts gasoline export ban for producers. Russia’s government lifted a temporary ban on the bulk of gasoline exports supplied by producers, while extending the restrictions for other exporters, such as independent traders and re-sellers, until Jan. 31, 2025, it said on Saturday.

3. Britain seeks views on including shipping in carbon market from 2026. Britain has called for views on changes to its emissions trading system (ETS) that could see the shipping sector join its carbon market from 2026.
Britain’s ETS is part of its wider efforts to meet climate targets and was launched in 2021 to replace its participation in the European Union’s ETS after it left the bloc.

5. UK looks at adding shipping to its emissions trading system. The splinterisation of shipping environmental rules could accelerate with the election of Donald Trump in the US and news that the UK is looking at adding the sector to its emissions trading system (ETS) from 2026. 
The UK is carrying out a review of its ETS with a view to adding shipping in a little over a year’s time. The European Union has included shipping in its own ETS from the start of this year.

6. Panama takes action against sanctioned ships. The UK has sanctioned more Russian-linked shadow ships than any country, its latest package being announced a week ago. The London-headquartered Barbados Maritime Ship Registry remains the flag with the highest number of UK-sanctioned ships on its books, accounting for more than 40% of the 73 tankers targeted by the UK since Keir Starmer became British prime minister in early July.

7. K Line wins Indian gas deal. Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) has signed a long-term time charter contract with India’s GAIL for a 174,000 cu m newbuild LNG carrier that will be built at Samsung Heavy Industries and deliver in 2027.K Line has positioned its LNG business as one of its top priority areas for future investment in its latest medium-term business plan, which also seeks out future growth markets in Asia as a target.

8. U.S. Navy Destroyers Thwart Multiple Houthi Attacks on American Ships. Two U.S. Navy destroyers successfully defended against multiple Houthi-launched attacks while escorting American merchant vessels through the Gulf of Aden between November 30 and December 1.
The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stockdale (DDG 106) and USS O’Kane (DDG 77) intercepted and neutralized a complex array of threats, including three anti-ship ballistic missiles, three unmanned aerial systems, and one anti-ship cruise missile.

9. Protesters Block Access To Black Seaport Of Poti. Georgian anti-government protesters on Sunday blocked an access road into the country’s main commercial port in the Black Sea city of Poti, Georgian news agency Interpress reported.Images showed at least one entrance to the port complex blocked by protesters demonstrating against the ruling party’s announcement on Thursday that it was suspending talks on joining the European Union for four years.
