OceanScore  announced the launch of the OceanScore Pool-Price Index , the maritime industry’s most comprehensive benchmark for tracking FuelEU pooling prices. Published monthly, the OPX reflects the average cost of compliance surplus in euro per ton of CO2e, and serves as a benchmark for comparing individual surplus offers, assessing biofuel-based compliance and for negotiating conpensations in Charter Party and SHIPMAN agreements.

5. Russian ‘Shadow Fleet’ LNG Carrier Without Ice-Class Stops, Reverses on Northern Sea Route Near Ice-Edge. A Russian liquefied natural gas carrier without ice protection has reversed course and remains stopped near the edge of the sea ice on the Northern Sea Route. 6. Dolphin Drilling is ‘back in black’. Armed with new senior management, board, shareholders and refinanced debt, Dolphin Drilling reported a significant turnaround in EBITDA in H1 2025 compared with a year earlier.In an earnings call at the end of August, new company chief executive, Jon Oliver Bryce, declared, “Financially, the company has moved from a loss-making position to being back in the black with an H1 EBITDA of US$10,400,000 compared with a negative US$23,200,000 in the same period in 2024”.

7. Senator wants more details on US-Korea shipbuilding MASGA investments. 8. Boost for Ørsted as Equinor agrees to participate in upcoming rights issue. Ørsted was forced to announce the rights issue after it was unable to complete the planned partial divestment and associated non-recourse project financing of the Sunrise Wind project in the US. Since then, the Trump administration has dealt the company another major blow, when the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management ordered work to stop on the company’s Revolution Wind project off the New England Coast, a project that has almost been completed .

9. Kerala moves to acquire 300 acres for industrial development near Vizhinjam Port. Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has identified 300 acres of privately owned land for industrial development in connection with the Vizhinjam International Port. Spread across five locations within a 20-kilometre radius of the port, the land has been earmarked through KINFRA. Discussions with landowners are expected to begin soon, with the government planning to acquire the property by offering compensation.

10. 44% hike in export container handling fees effective from tomorrow amid concerns from businesses. The new handling fees fixed by the Bangladesh Inland Container Depot Association (Bicda) for private inland container depots (ICDs) will come into effect from tomorrow (1 September), raising rates for export cargo by up to 44%, amid concerns from businesses that the hike may put exporters at risk.Charges for import container handling, however, will remain unchanged.
