2. SmartSea and SITA set to power Asia Pacific’s first inter-operable Ferry and Cruise boarding system at Singapore Cruise Centre.

4. WinGD to launch first ethanol two-stroke marine engine in 2026. Swiss marine power company WinGD will offer the first ethanol-fuelled two-stroke marine engine next year, with deliveries for newbuild and retrofit applications set to begin in 2027.

The announcement follows a decade of investigation into ethanol fuel and the successful launch of a methanol-fuelled engine that uses the same combustion concept and is subject to the same safety regulations as the new ethanol engine.

5. BP awards Andrew field decom gig to AF Gruppen-led joint venture. Norway’s AF Gruppen has, through its subsidiary AF Offshore Decom, and in a joint venture with Three60 Energy, been awarded a contract with supermajor BP to provide decommissioning services for the Andrew field in the North Sea.

6. Norden flips leased panamax in latest S&P move. Danish shipowner and operator Norden has confirmed the disposal of a panamax bulker, extending a busy run in the sale-and-purchase market this year.The Copenhagen-listed company said it exercised a purchase option on the leased vessel and subsequently sold it on. Norden did not disclose details of the ship or the buyer.

7. WinGD Unveils First Ethanol-Fueled Two-Stroke Marine Engine for 2026 Launch. Swiss marine power company WinGD will introduce the world’s first ethanol-fuelled two-stroke marine engine in 2026, with deliveries for newbuild and retrofit applications beginning in 2027.The new engine builds upon a decade of ethanol fuel research, including full-scale engine tests conducted in 2018. It leverages the same combustion concept and safety regulations as WinGD’s recently launched methanol-fuelled engine.
