2. Lloyd’s Register issues updated guidance to support safe fuel cell integration onboard ships. This revised guidance provides shipbuilders and shipowners technical, regulatory and safety frameworks for integrating fuel cell power systems into new and existing vessels.

4. ExxonMobil steps into LNG bunkering with Avenir and Evalend newbuilds. ExxonMobil has moved to enter the LNG marine bunkering market with two purpose-built vessels, as it looks to expand its portfolio of lower-emission marine fuels.

The US energy major will begin operations in 2027, deploying two LNG bunker ships — one chartered from Avenir LNG and another from Evalend Shipping — to supply LNG and bio-LNG to vessels in key trading regions.

5. DP World seals 10-year extension with Hapag-Lloyd at Santos. 8. Liebherr’s Electric Cranes to Bolster Italian Ports. Liebherr, one of the biggest construction equipment manufacturers in the world, dispatched four additional mobile harbour cranes to Italy, reaffirming its role in the country’s evolving port infrastructure. It shipped two LHM 550 for Bari’s bulk terminal, each rated at 154 tonnes with a 54-metre outreach and equipped with e-drive for locally emission-free operation when connected to shore power.

10. Govt grants exemption to certain steel imports from QCOS. The government has granted certain steel imports, such as square tins for ghee, edible oils, steel tubes for structural purposes, and stainless steel utensils, an exemption from quality control orders (QCOs). The exemption is granted for products shipped on or before October 31st.
