2. More than 100 countries have cut fossil-fuel imports due to renewables rise, and other climate and nature news. Investing in renewable energy has allowed fossil fuel-importing nations to save an estimated $1.3 trillion since 2010, a new report from the International Energy Agency (IEA) finds.
By deploying renewables, these countries avoided importing 700 million tonnes of coal and 400 billion cubic metres of natural gas.

3. EU seeks Maritime Declaration to inspect Russia’s ‘Shadow Fleet’. 4. Russia, China Finalize Deal to Jointly Develop Arctic Shipping Along the Northern Sea Route. Beijing and Moscow have agreed to jointly develop and commercialize shipping along the Northern Sea Route in the Russian Arctic.The deal was signed in the Chinese city of Harbin last week between the Director of Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev, and China’s Minister of Transport, Liu Wei. Rosatom is Russia’s state enterprise in charge of Arctic shipping and the country’s nuclear icebreaker fleet.

5. Key Alaska LNG Pipeline Study Will Be Completed This Year, US Interior Secretary Burgum Says. 10. China Tops as International Market for Valenciaport. Valenciaport recorded steady container traffic for September 2025, but 4.5 percent less than the same period in 2024. It handled 4,287,037 containers – about 3.6 percent more – for the first nine months of 2025, and broadening the view to the last 12 months – a year-on-year perspective – the number of units handled rises to 5.6 million TEUs.
