Narrative:
Russian forces launched an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) attack on the port of Odesa, Ukraine. Ukrainian air defence systems were activated at 18:48 UTC, and explosions were reported throughout the city at 19:30 UTC. According to Ukrainian forces-affiliated media, over 12 Shahed-style UAVs were observed over the city, with some targeting the port. Ambrey observed video footage of an explosion near the port infrastructure. At the time of writing, no damage to merchant vessels was reported. No merchant vessels were observed in the area of interest at the time of the attack; however, Ambrey is aware that vessels have been withholding their AIS signals when calling at Ukrainian ports or transiting Ukrainian waters. Ambrey assessed this incident as ongoing and will provide updates when available.
ADVICE: Vessels conducting Black Sea port calls are advised to conduct comprehensive dynamic voyage threat assessments.
