Priority Alert – Europe and the Mediterranean
War risk/Sighting
Details
Narrative:
A Turkish fisherman discovered a likely Ukrainian unmanned surface vehicle (USV) off the coast of Artvin’s Hopa-Arhavi, Turkey. Reports indicated that a local fisherman discovered the USV drifting at sea. Ambrey observed footage released by the fisherman which showed a capsized grey hulled craft. From the observed footage, Ambrey assessed it a realistic possibility that this craft may be a Ukrainian USV-type Sea-Baby. Ambrey is aware of previous USV discovery off the Trukish coast within the last seven days. Ambrey assessed it likely that these USVs were used for the recent attacks on the Port of Novorossiysk, and Port of Tuaapse Russia. At the time of writing Ambrey assessed it likely that the USV remains drifting at sea. These crafts can carry a payload of up to 300 kg. ADVICE: Vessels sailing in the Black Sea are advised to conduct comprehensive voyage risk assessments, post lookouts at the bow of vessels.
