Narrative:
UPDATE01: Authorities subsequently confirmed an attack on the port. Damage was reportedly caused to port infrastructure and associated buildings, as well as to transport infrastructure, which led to the outbreak of fires. NASA FIRMS data also confirmed thermal anomalies in proximity to the port. The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority announced that “the port is operating normally.” At the time of writing, no damage to merchant vessels or injuries had been reported.

An air raid alert was issued for Izmail, Ukraine, at 19:41 UTC on 16 April. The alert had been issued due to a possible imminent unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack. Ambrey will provide updates as new information becomes available.

ADVICE: Vessels conducting Black Sea port calls are advised to conduct comprehensive dynamic voyage threat assessments. The crew is advised to remain within the designated Safe Muster Point (SMP) during UAV attacks on infrastructure. The SMP should be located above the waterline, amidships, and low-down in the superstructure.
